NOTE Pre-Requisite:  Participants must have completed the Podcasting in Higher Education: Current Trends and Applications workshop OR have equivalent expertise in podcasting prior to registering for this workshop.

Online Workshop Description: 
This unique workshop experience reveals practical tips to making podcastiinig and other Web 2.0 multimedia (such as screencasting, slidecasting, and streaming video) a dominant force in the online or blended classroom. The facilitators walk through approaches to integrating audio and video and establish pedagogical linkages. Content is tightly focused on engaging the online learner and the workshop is designed to obe interactive in nature.

Presenter/Panelist Biographies
Biographies of Presenters/Panelists: 

Burks Oakley II, University of Illinois Burks Oakley II is an Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Illinois. His areas of interest include distance education, outreach, and instructional technologies on all three campuses of the University of Illinois (Chicago, Springfield, Urbana-Champaign). Oakley also holds appointments as a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in the Departments of Computer Science and Management Information Systems at the University of Illinois at Springfield, and in the School of Biomedical and Health Information Sciences at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Through his innovative use of technology in teaching, Professor Oakley has earned a national reputation as a practitioner and promoter of Internet-based asynchronous learning environments. In the past four years, he has given more than one hundred invited talks at national conferences and on university campuses.

Ray Schroeder, University of Illinois Ray Schroeder is Professor Emeritus of Communication, Director of the Office of Technology-Enhanced Learning at the University of Illinois at Springfield, and Faculty Associate at the University of Illinois Online. He has taught more than two dozen online classes. As Director of Technology-Enhanced Learning he is dedicated to faculty development and pedagogical support of the online initiative. As Faculty Associate, Schroeder is engaged in the formation of online learning policy for the University of Illinois. He is a Sloan Consortium Distinguished Scholar in Online Learning 2002-2003 and the recipient of the 2002 Sloan-C award for the "Most Outstanding Achievement in ALN by an Individual".
