Encouraging change: Fostering faculty participation in asynchronous online course development

One of the more common roadblocks to enlisting faculty support to create asynchronous academic courses for online delivery is the perceived time commitment to learn the technology and develop courses from scratch. Successful policies for the development process will be discussed.

Using Project Merlot to Create an Effective Teaching Environment

Twelve disciplines make up this project and faculty chosen for their expertise in these fields serve as peer reviewers. The material on the Merlot web site is available for anyone to access.

Implementing an Online MSW Program... The E-Team Strategy

This presentation provides insight into the successful development of the first online Masters Degree in Social Work offered in the United States by an accredited program. The team building strategy will be explored as an approach to providing an overall model of curriculum development and faculty support. The presentation will include a discussion of the use of innovative teaching methodology to overcome perceived barriers to online learning in the helping professions.
